After an almost twenty year hiatus, 90’s R&B group Jodeci has reunited. The group released its first album in as many years, “The Past, The Present, The Future” earlier this year and is touring in support of the album. With a blend of gospel, R&B and New Jack Swing, Jodeci released its debut album “Forever My Lady” in 1991. The album was a smash spawning the hits “Forever My Lady”, “Stay” and “Come And Talk To Me”. They went on to release the albums “Diary Of A Mad Band”, and “The Show, The After Party, The Hotel”. The group went on hiatus after the releasing “The Show, The After Party, The Hotel”. Brothers Kci and JoJo went on to score several hits to greater acclaim and chart success. On November 7, 2014, Jodeci performed a medley of their classic hits during a reunion performance on 2014 Soul Train Awards. The performance included a snippet of the single “Nobody Wins”, which was released on December 22, 2014. On January 28, 2015, a second single, “Every Moment” was released. That same month, it was announced by Epic Records that Jodeci had been signed to a contract. Their fourth album, “The Past, The Present, The Future” was released on March 31, 2015. A Jodeci reunion tour was announced shortly after with the first show taking place in Richmond VA as part of the city’s 11th Annual Stone Soul Music Festival. It was the group’s first performance since 1995. The group remains respected and revered for its music and image. Singer Mariah Carey mentioned Jodeci on her single “The Impossible” from her album “Memoirs of a Perfect Angel”, which sampled “Forever My Lady”. A number of hip hop artists have sampled the group’s material as well. The group will be appearing in Silver Spring MD tonight and in Detroit MI tomorrow. The Bad Boys of R&B are back!
