Joseph Lewis Thomas, known professionally by his stage name Joe, is an R&B singer/songwriter producer. Born in Columbus GA on July 5, 1973, he was the son of evangelist preachers. He later moved to Opelika AL and graduated from Opelika High School in 1990. He began singing and writing music while working several odd jobs. He finally traveled to New Jersey to make connections in the music industry. While continuing his musical education in a local church, he met producer Vincent Herbert and recorded a three song demo tape. He signed to Mercury Records in 1992 and released his debut album, “Everything”, the following year. The album produced a minor hit for him and he was released from his contract. His single “All The Things Your Man Won’t Do” was featured in the film “Don’t Be A Menace In South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood”. He later signed to Jive Records where he released several albums. In 2014, he released he signed a new deal with BMG Rights Management and released the album “Bridges” independently on his own label Plaid Takeover Entertainment.
