Singer/actor Tyrese Gibson will star in a short film, “Shame”, along with Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson, which is slated to premiere at the 19th annual Urban World Film Festival in New York. Gibson will also serve as ambassador for the five-day multi cultural cinema showcase, presented by BET Networks and with founding sponsor HBO. The film, written by Gibson, directed by Paul Hunter and produced by Academy Award winner Denzel Washington, chronicles the life of upcoming R&B singer Lionel Jacobs (Gibson). Married to his background singer Bobbi Ann (Hudson), Jacobs tries to pursue a singing career while battling drugs and alcohol on one hand and trying to take care of his wife and children on the other. A conversation with Gibson will follow the Sep. 26 screening. Actress Sanaa Lathan, star of the box office hit “The Perfect Guy”, is trying to parlay the success of the film into a new single. She collaborated with producer Detail, co-writer-producer of Beyoncé’s “Drunk In Love”, and rapper Dej Loaf, on the single “Emotional”, which was inspired by Lathan’s love interests in the film, Michael Ealy and Morris Chestnut. The  track was co-produced by Choppa and Sidney. Naughty Boy, of Zayn Malik fame, released a snippet of his latest single “Runnin (Lose It All) featuring Beyoncé on Instagram.
