Janet Jackson has cancelled her Oct 9 and 10 shows at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino to rest her vocal chords, and the Las Vegas stop of her “Unbreakable” tour will be moved to a new 20,000 seat arena in May. Live Nation Entertainment said yesterday that ticket holders will be refunded and have an opportunity to purchase tickets for the May 14 performance. Tickets go on sale Oct 16. The move is a loss for Caesars Entertainment Corp, which owns Planet Hollywood and has featured performances by Brittany Spears and soon Jennifer Lopez. MGM Resorts International is working with concert promoter AEG to open the new arena behind MGS’s New York-New York and Monte Carlo resorts in April. Jackson’s comeback album, “Unbreakable”, will be released today. Singers Miguel and Tori Kelly announced cable network VH1’s upcoming concert “VH1: Best Music of 2015: You Ought To Know”, which will showcase artists breaking into the mainstream. The show will air Nov. 12. Singer Childish Gambino has recorded a remake of Tamia’s hit single “I’m So Into You”. He noted that the song is one of his favorites. He performed the song on Australian radio station triple j, which has a segment “Like A Version” where a musician or band comes into the studio to play one of their own songs and a cover version of a song they love. It’s worth a listen.
