Almost thirty years after the release of the seminal album of the same name, the N.W.A. biopic, “Straight Outta Compton”, topped the weekend box office earning 60.2 million dollars, Universal, the studio behind the film, reported. That number ranks as the fifth biggest August opening in history and the biggest debut for an R-rated film during the month. “Straight Outta Compton” profiles Los Angeles CA rap group N.W.A., often credited with helping to popularize gangsta rap. It was co-produced by original members Dr. Dre and Ice Cube. Cash Money Records CEO Bryan “Baby” Williams has been hit with yet another lawsuit, according to TMZ. Producer DVLP is seeking $200,000 in unpaid fees after working on the albums “That Carter 2”, “Tha Carter 3”, and “Tha Carter 4”. His work appears on the singles “Fireman” and “Blunt Blowin” as well as “Post Bail Ballin” from the “Free Weezy” album. Stunna has filed a suit of his own against streaming site Tidal for streaming the “Free Weezy” album without his consent. Sounds like he has enough to keep him busy for some time. Music mogul Sean “P Diddy” Combs revealed during a radio interview on morning show the Breakfast Club that he gave himself a self-motivating talk after falling on stage during the BET Awards a few months ago. The incident occurred during a Bad Boy reunion, which included Faith Evans and Lil Kim and became one of the most talked about incidents on social media. He also revealed that he did have altercations with Drake and J Cole, but that’s all in the past.
